Guidelines for Computer Lab Scheduling
(Room UT-141)
·
Identical
Time Periods: These will be limited to
two per month. For example, the
instructor may in advance reserve the lab for a M/W or T/R class meeting at the
same time of day for only two meetings in one month. This gives everyone equal
opportunity for use of the room.
·
Next-Day
Class Notices: One month into the
semester, an instructor may inquire a day in advance about an existing vacancy.
If the vacancy exists, the instructor
may reserve the lab for that day and time and may continue to do so until
someone requests usage for that same time period.
·
Walk-up
Notices: These are welcomed. The instructor may call right before a class
meets or drop by the lab to see if the lab is available. Please make the request before assuming that
the lab is free.
·
Next-Day
Class Notices and Walk-up Notices do not count as one of the two Identical Time
Periods available each month.
·
Evening
Scheduling (after 5 p.m.): Evening
instructors may reserve the classroom more than two (2) days for identical time
periods, but some flexibility is wanted in case another instructor needs the
room for a class. If reservations increase in the evenings, the regular scheduling
procedure will be followed.
·
Instructors
need to know that the room is exclusively theirs when they reserve it.
·
On
the average, with eight M/Ws or T/Rs in a month, two days is ¼ of the M/W or
T/R month, which is a significant portion of the month.
