Academic Advising

I encourage you to make an appointment with me for advising so that we have enough time to discuss your course options and scheduling needs. Please contact me to arrange a good time for us to me.  I can be reached by phone at (864) 250-8559, and my email address is Kevin.Morris@gvltec.edu

Before we meet for the first time, there are a couple of things you should do if you have decided on a college that you would like to transfer to:

  • FIRST, get a catalog from the college or university to which you plan to transfer.

There are a coupe of ways you can get a catalog.  You can

  • write to the school to which you plan to transfer for one

  • check the college's website for catalogs

  • visit the University Center at McAlister Square (corner of S. Pleasantburg and Antrim Drive just three blocks north of the GTC main campus) where you will find representatives of

  • Clemson University

  • Furman University

  • USC at Spartanburg

  • Lander University

  • USC at Columbia

who will be happy to furnish you with their college's catalog.  You can visit the University Center on the web at http://www.greenville.org  The website also links to the various colleges and universities.

  • SECOND, research your major in your catalog to see which  freshman (100 level) and sophomore (200) level courses are required for which Greenville Tech most likely has equivalents courses.

  • THIRD, contact me and let me know

    • your name

    • name of the college or university to which you will transfer

    • your major at that college

    • and when you would like to meet for advising

  • FINALLY, create a proposed schedule of classes you want to take.

If you have not decided on a college to which you would like to transfer, before we meet for the first time, please look at the Program and Degree Requirements for Associate of Arts or Associate of Sciences (links are below) and create a proposed schedule of classes you want to take.

After we meet for the first time, you can register for classes yourself online by going to Campus Cruiser.

To access Campus Cruiser, go to the address listed above, click on WELCOME and then click on WHAT'S MY USER ID?

To register for classes on Campus Cruiser, once you have logged on, click on WEB ADVISOR, then click on STUDENT SERVICES, then click on REGISTRATION in the left column.

For all advisees - below are links to some additional information you might want to take a look at before we meet:
