WEIGHTED ADMISSIONS PROCESS:

• The Application Process: 
  • Any student who anticipates completing the prerequisite courses by the end of spring or summer terms is eligible to submit an INTENT FORM for the DMS program.  However, students who complete these requirements by the end of spring term are considered first for acceptance.  Students who complete these requirements in the summer are considered only if space is available.
  • The deadline to submit the intent form and any pertinent documentation is May 1.
  • It is the student’s responsibility to assure that all required documentation is submitted to his/her advisor.  Any documentation not submitted will not be considered towards the weighted admissions process. 

• Requirements for Eligibility:
  • Admission into the college.
  • Completion or anticipated completion of all prerequisite courses with a minimum grade of “C” or better.
  • Attend a CareerTalk session for Diagnostic Medical Sonography.  (Students are encouraged to attend a CareerTalk session as soon as possible.) Career Talk expires after two (2) years.

• The Admission Process:
  • All returned Intent Forms and pertinent documentation must be postmarked no later than May 1. 
  • All Intent Forms will be reviewed for completeness.
  • Students will be ranked according to weighted criteria (Weighted Admission) on the Applicant Worksheet. If students are equal in points, selection is based upon the student’s Technical GPA. 

  • Students who complete all Phase I general education courses with the appropriate grade by the end of the spring term

     will be considered first. Students who complete the Phase I courses during the summer will be seated only if space is

     available.

**Students who have not attended a CareerTalk session will not be considered for acceptance.**
