What is Career Talk?

            Making a decision about a new career can be exciting, yet it can also be stressful.  How will your choice affect your life, schedule and plans? Career Talk is an information session designed to help you make an informed decision about a health career before starting classes. In fact, we feel it’s so beneficial that it’s mandatory to attend Career Talk before enrolling in a nursing or health science program at Greenville Tech, unless you are transferring from another school.

There is no cost to attend and sessions are held monthly.  Career Talk focuses on a specific program, not an overview of all health professions.  You select a particular health program to investigate, then attend the session about that program. You are welcome to attend more than one session on subsequent dates. Examples of topics explained at Career Talk are

	Length of the program.
	Type of academic award.
	Credentialing requirements after graduation.
	Program expenses.
	Americans with Disabilities Act -requirements and accommodations.
	Program format – day, evening, part-time, etc.
	Student/work issues.
	Travel requirements.
	Progression requirements.
